It appears whether we intended to be our not, Real Dog Moms of Chicago has become a resource for all things dog. Most recently with the weather changing, we’ve been asked if we know a glove that saves us dog parents from freezing our fingers off when we walk/pick up after our dogs. Just like you, I had NO clue. Until now.
First, thank you so much for asking me to share my story! I’m thrilled to be talking to all the dog moms of Chicago because you are my people. I can’t technically consider myself a dog mom, but I do have two cats that act more canine than feline. I also write about pups looking for their forever homes, so I hope you’ll let me be part of the Real Dog Moms crowd.
While I’m fairly new the blogging world, my passion for animals started at a very young age. Growing up, I wanted to be a veterinarian in the worst way. I started my pre-vet career only to discover I couldn’t handle the whole surgical side of veterinary medicine, sort of a major component of the gig. With my dreams slightly dashed, I continued to volunteer at local shelters over the years, keeping my passion to help animals alive.
I wanted to create some easy paw wipes that are anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory that I can take with me when traveling and keep in my car. This is a super easy DIY for natural paw wipes that can clean irritated paws, or be used for everyday dirty paw cleanings.
We all know that daily walks are great exercise for humans, so why don’t we apply the same concept to our four-legged friends? A routine walking regimen–if done in a safe way–can be beneficial to both the pet and their parent, helping your pooch live a long and healthy life.
